We provide scholarships to those in need and services to those with disabilities to ensure that every member of the community has the opportunity to benefit from our programs. We impact the lives of tens of thousands of people in every corner of the Atlanta area by providing the best in contemporary programs and experiences.

AboutHistory

One hundred years ago, a small group of enterprising Jews came together in the spirit of community to open Atlanta's first Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Educational Alliance (JEA) in downtown Atlanta. For the first half of the 20th century, the JEA served as the hub of Atlanta's Jewish community. In 1946, the JEA incorporated and officially became the Atlanta Jewish Community Center, Inc (AJCC). In 1948, property was purchased on Peachtree Street for a new Jewish Community Center building. Citing expansive growth, AJCC leadership began looking for a larger location in the late 90s. In 2000, the AJCC moved to its current location, 52 beautifully landscaped acres in Dunwoody (with another branch in East Cobb: Shirley Blumenthal Park), and officially changed its name to the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, renamed for its benefactor, Atlanta entrepreneur, industrialist, and philanthropist, Bernie Marcus.

AboutMission

The mission of the MJCCA is to ensure a vibrant greater Atlanta community by providing programs and services of distinction that inspires meaningful connections and promotes Jewish values. We fulfill our mission by systematically building, growing, and sustaining our core programs and services in a fiscally disciplined manner. We ensure we have the appropriate facilities and visionary leadership to meet the growing needs of the community. We engage in community partnerships and collaborative efforts to offer a continuum of programs and services and serve as the première Jewish institution that connects and engages all ages and backgrounds.

AboutGoals

We teach children, care for the frail, embrace individuals with special needs, enthuse teens, provide cultural programs, nourish bodies and souls and provide the meaningful and caring connections that make us a community. We turn everyday minutes into moments that are remembered for a lifetime. Walking through the halls, applauding a performance, standing near the pool, and cheering on the ball field, you will hear toddlers singing, children laughing and see people of all ages connecting. Every minute, every moment, everyone at the MJCCA is exploring, growing, discovering.
